  1. Processes

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Processes

    This tab is intended to determine processes which should not be monitored. It allows avoiding storing excessive data. You may also determine processes for which it is necessary to monitor changes of process window titles. Considering that running process may open more than one process window, we assume that the first one is the main window.

    Note that monitoring of changes of all process window titles of all processes greatly increases process database volume. So it is recommended to pay close attention when configuring processes to be monitored.

    Click Exceptions button to make respective settings.

    Click pointing arrows to add programs to or remove from the list.

  2. Modem

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Modem

    • Show Internet access timer - when this box is checked, timer that monitors Internet activity is enabled at the beginning of dial-up connection.
    • Show connection speed - when this box is checked, dial-up connection speed is displayed on timer.
    • Show number of sent bytes - when this box is checked, number of sent bytes is displayed on timer.
    • Show number of received bytes - when this box is checked, number of received bytes is displayed on timer.
    • Limit Internet access time - when this box is checked, fields Limit time, Warning time and Enable timer reset are enabled. Internet access is limited based on settings of those fields.
    • Limit time - enter time interval after which Internet connection should be automatically broken.
    • Warning time - enter time interval left before Internet connection break. At that interval warning appears (timer font changes color at regular intervals).
    • Enable timer reset - when this box is checked, user can reset time of Internet access by double-clicking the timer. It can be done during warning time.

  3. Internet: Servers

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Internet: Servers

    • Resolve server IP address to server name - when this box is checked, field value Server in Internet: Servers data group is displayed as domain name.
      To get domain name StatWin uses reverse DNS lookup. It might cause a reaction from system of antivirus protection or firewall installed on your computer. In such a case it is recommended to permit the connection.

  4. Printers

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Printers

    Information in Printers data group sometimes (depending on used printers) might be inconsistent. Then it is recommended to use Standard Monitoring option (default value is Advanced Monitoring). Come to conclusion about best option based on current information that is displayed in Printers data group.

  5. Activity

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Activity

    Idle time - enter time interval to determine idle time for data group Activity.

  6. Files

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Files

    • Path to monitor files - enter resource (resources) for which information about actions with files should be collected. See Files data group to get information about collected data.
    • Exceptions - enter resource (resources) for which information about actions with files should not be collected.
    • Limit number of monitored files - when this box is checked, only one action with file per second is monitored. Other actions within a second are not collected.
    • Monitor files on removable devices - when this box is checked, information about actions with files on removable devices will be collected.

  7. Network: Files

    Computer and Employee Monitoring - Computer Monitoring > Monitoring > Advanced Monitoring Settings > Network: Files

    • Path or files to monitor - enter resource (resources) for which information about actions with files should be collected. See Network: Files data group to get information about collected data.
    • Exceptions - enter resource (resources) for which information about actions with files should not be collected.
    • Limit number of monitored files - when this box is checked, only one action with file per second is monitored. Other actions within a second are not collected.

  8. Screenshots

    Computer Monitoring provides tool to take automatic screenshots of user workplace at regular intervals.

    Screenshot file format: .jpg.
    Screenshots are stored in \SWData\SWSCREENSHOTS\ folder of program folder, like:
    C:\Program Files\SXR Software\StatWin\SWData\SWSCREENSHOTS\

    • Take screenshot every - set regular interval to take screenshots (HH:MM:SS).
    • Screenshot quality (0-100) - quality of file .jpg (the less the number, the less screenshot quality and file volume).
    • Take screenshots depending on activity status - when this box is checked, tool to take automatic screenshots is enabled. It takes screenshots either during active period (when user actually uses mouse/keyboard) or during idle period (when there is no activity).
