Remote Client Installation is a tool of StatWin that is intended to install Client remotely to client computer from server computer.
You need to select Client (group of Clients) record, for which Client should be installed. Select it from the list of created Clients (default value is Local).
Click Clients button to maintain Client records (see Client Control).
While installing, apply the buttons:
- Install Client - installs Client.
- Remove Client - removes (uninstalls) Client.
- Check - check working status of Client.

Settings - configure Client installation options.
Use current logon session user name and password - if this box is checked, then program applies user name and password of current logon session to access client computer (for installing Client), else login and password to access client computer should be specified in fields User name and Password.
Note: specified user account should have administrator privileges on client computer (see Installation features below).Select one of the following radio buttons to determine access resource to client computer:
- Use system network shared resource to access to the client computer
- Use custom network shared resource to access to the client computer
To determine StatWin files storing folder on client computer and server computer fill values to respective fields.
Button
is intended to install Client step by step:
- Copy Files - copies Client file to client computer.
- Install Service
- Start Service
- Remove Service
- Stop Service
Installation features
Depending on network architecture and version of operating system there might be Client installation features.
- Domain-based network
- You should install Client under account of domain administrator (domain that includes client computer).
- This account also should have administrator privileges on client computer.
- Workgroup-based network
- You should install Client under account that matches account on client computer (i.e. their login and password are the same), and this account should have local administrator privileges.

If client computer works under Windows Professional, then you should disable simple file sharing.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click My Computer.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
- Click the View tab.
- In the Advanced Settings section, click to clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box.
- Click OK.

If client computer works under Windows Vista, then you should disable User Account Control (UAC) remote restrictions.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.

Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System - If the LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy registry entry does not exist, follow these steps:
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
